Shrimp Fajitas! ?

The mojarra tilapia here cannot be beat!  It’s simmered in a lightly spicy sauce until perfectly flavored, and it’s a delicious, light meal that won’t weigh you down.  If you want something heartier, try the tacos Acapulco, three seafood tacos with varied fillings, served with mexican rice and beans.  Save room for sopapillas, light fried dough tossed with cinnamon sugar and honey!

La Mex

La Mex has been around for 50 years, and the food is delicious enough that you can count on the restaurant being around for 50 more.  Try street tacos and elote for an authentic taste of food in Mexico – the soft cojita cheese on the elote adds some delicious, layered flavor and balances the spices.

Mexico In Alaska

The food here is made from traditional recipes, eschewing the mutation of American influences and providing an authentic culinary experience.  Start with the shrimp and scallop cevice, and then enjoy some perfectly prepared chile rellenos.  Vegetarians may enjoy the nopales con huevo, cactus paddles with onions and topped with cheesy eggs.  Pair with a refreshing glass of acqua con fruta fresca!

Don Jose’s

Try the Carmen Special at Don Jose’s, filled with chile verde pork and served with a chile relleno.  Another great option is scallops mazatlan, a light dish with flavors of coconut and served with black beans.  All of the ingredients used are amazingly fresh, and that quality is obvious in the flavors of the food!

Mexican food is always a nice way to enjoy some relaxing time over dinner, and Anchorage has some great options for you to try!
