Make Anchorage The Focus Of Your Wanderlust And The First Stop Of Your Future Travels!

Portage Glacier is truly impressive.

Or maybe you’ll prefer Hubbard Glacier.

No one can deny the majesty of Denali.

Have you ever heard of Sleeping Woman Mountain?

From above, you’ll see how it gets its name.

Fog rolling over the water is beautiful, not gloomy.

You never know who you’ll run into.

The diversity of wildlife is impressive, from bears…

…to otters…

…and sea lions.

Yaks…

And eagles…

Moose…

This was a young pregnant female moose that was very unhappy at everything and everyone. I kept my distance but she still kept her on me. It’s so very important to watch pregnant female moose’s body languages. I do believe this is the first year for this female moose to be pregnant. #wildlifephotography #wildlifephotographer #moose #mooseinalaska #mooseinthewild #wildlife #wildlifeonearth #pregnant #pregnantbelly #wildlifepregnancy #naturephotography #nature_of_our_world #explorealaska #bodylanguage #keptaneyeonme #spring #springtime #mooseontheloose #natgeowildlife #alaskalife #alaskalove #lovealaska #alaskaphotography #anchoragealaska #brownfur #hungrymoose #feedingfortwo #smartanimal #hikingadventures #hikingtrails

Owls looking wise in trees.

Even swans.

All you’ll find is beauty as far as the eye can see.

Sunset in Alaska can’t be beat.

After the sun is down, the night is just as gorgeous.

You can try your hand at dog sledding.

Love this shot from @argonautphoto via @natgeo ⠀ —⠀ Photo by Aaron Huey @argonautphoto | Wolves deep in Denali National Park, in Alaska, lead their offspring to new hunting grounds. The Iron Creek pack’s breeding pair breaks trail through fresh snow, with the female leading. I watched the pack over the course of three days as they devoured a moose, and then I was lucky enough to catch them as they left that site, crossing this large, unbroken field of snow. Other parts of the park had less snow from a warm, dry winter, and it was harder to see the wolves in the patchy brown and green of the trees. This shot was the result of a little luck, but mostly relentless searching for the right pack in the right photo conditions. The payoff was worth the time put in! Or biking through ice caves.

Take a hike to the top of the peaks.

And ski back down.

Everywhere you turn, you can take amazing photographs.

Of flowers and nature…

Or mountains.

Don’t forget to take home some beautiful pieces by local artists.

No matter when you go, Anchorage is an absolutely stunning place to visit.
