- If you are looking for a day trip, visit Alyeska Resort for their free Easter Egg Hunt. On Sunday, April 21, kids can roam the hotel’s Pond Courtyard in search for some hidden treasures. It is also a great opportunity to enjoy the spring weather. The hunt begins at 9:45 a.m. and is followed by an Easter Brunch.
On-Mountain Scavenger Egg Hunt:

- Alyeska Resort is hosting an Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 21. They are brining on their Eater game and offering favorite holiday specials. Seatings are at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Adults pay $56, kids 4 – 12 pay $28 and children under 3 are free. Reservations are encouraged.
Alaska Railroad Easter Train: Music, Scenery, Food and the Easter Bunny
Hop on the Alaska Railroad for their special Easter Train on Saturday, April 20. It is great for all ages and features several entertainment options throughout the ride. Guests will receive treats, a magic show and a special visit from the Easter Bunny. This is a great option for kids to take pictures with the Easter Bunny and be entertained. Not to mention, the trip affords beautiful scenery as it travels down the Turnagain Arm to Indian. The full journey is 2.5 hours long and has two departures. The first train leave at 10 a.m. and returns at 12:30 p.m. The afternoon train leaves at 3 p.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m. Prices range from $71 for adults to $36 for children from 2-11. From April 8 to April 20 children can visit the Easter Bunny in the Anchorage 5th Avenue Mall. It’s a nice chance to snap some cute pictures of the kids with the Easter Bunny. Fast pass tickets are available online so you can avoid lines.
Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center: Easter Bunny, Egg Hunt, Food, Puppet Show and Animal Visits
Want to celebrate Easter and take the kids to visit some adorable animals? The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center has a day packed with Easter fun. They have events planned on April 21 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be food service offering breakfast and lunch. The Egg Hunt will take place at 11 a.m. and photos with the Easter Bunny will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. You and the family can also visit some animals and watch them as they enjoy their Easter basket. Included are the brown and black bears, wolves, porcupine, lynx, foxes and coyotes.
Earth Mama Fiber Studio: Naturally Dyed Easter Eggs
Who doesn’t love to paint their Easter eggs? On Thursday, April 18, the studio is offering a class focused on egg painting at South Restaurant and Coffeehouse. You will learn how to use natural dyes to paint the egg. The dyes can come from things you already have in your kitchen. Examples include cabbage, onion, beets and fruits. Here you can give your design a personal twist. You will leave class with unique, colorful eggs and knowledge on how to do it yourself at home. The class is ideal for children above the age of 12.
