You can expect to see nearly every food truck in Anchorage at the festival, including Fat Ptarmigan with their delicious pizzas – look for them near the beer garden.

The beer garden is being run by Pioneer Bar and Matanuska Brewery, and will also be serving wine!

If you don’t want to drink, Recover Alaska is hosting a mocktail garden, featuring fun and creative nonalcoholic drinks, for people of all ages!

Hero Games

Watch first responders engage in a series of athletic competitions during the Hero Games!  With traditional contests such as the obstacle course, contests relating to their occupation like the “stretcher carry”, and fun contests like the donut eating contest, you’re sure to get caught up in the competitive spirit as you cheer on your favorite.

Kids’ Activities

From a giant sandbox to face painting to a petting zoo, there is plenty at the Summer Solstice Festival for kids to do!  Even parents will want in on some of these activities.  Don’t miss the puppet show performed by Steven’s Puppets or the Circus performance from Chataqua Community Actors.

Entertainment

Browse the art vendors at the Festival for a beautiful piece of artwork to bring home, or marvel at the chalk art gallery where people make stunning temporary images in the street.  If you’re hoping for something more active, hit the Kayak Pool.

And of course, there will be music.  This year, the headlining act is no other than the Spin Doctors, known for their songs “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”.  It’s sure to be an amazing show!

Don’t miss an amazing Summer Solstice Festival in Anchorage!
