Celebrate The Holidays In Anchorage
Anchorage is a great place to celebrate the winter holidays, and there are plenty of events to get you in the spirit!
Zoo Lights
The zoo is always a great way to spend some time in Anchorage, but in December, it takes on a holiday vibe as the entire facility is decked out in holiday lights. With animal-themed displays across the zoo, it brings a new beauty to the already amazing exhibits – plus, it’s a great activity for the whole family.
Holiday Train
Take a ride on the Alaska Railroad’s Holiday Train, a special trip loaded with holiday-themed activities. From coloring for the kids to caroling and a magic show, everyone can enjoy the ride, especially when you look at the window to see the beautiful arctic vista.
Christmas On The Farm
Just before Christmas, meet members of Santa’s sleigh crew at the Williams Reindeer Farm. You’ll have the chance to get up close and personal with a few reindeer, as well as take a short train ride, join a snowball fight, and, depending on the weather, take a ride in a reindeer/pulled sleigh! Warm up with hot chocolate and holiday treats before heading back outside for more fun activities. It’s truly a unique and magical experience!
Spending the holiday season in Anchorage means you can participate in some special activities you can’t find anywhere else, so don’t miss out!
