Anchorage Halloween

The Fright Night Haunted House is turning 31 this year—and with 10,000 terrifying square feet, it’s by far the biggest fright zone in all of Alaska! Rooms of horror are designed for thrills and chills. You’ll encounter zombies, ghouls, mummies and ghosts as you make your way through the hair-raising experience. With a 3D haunted house and additional scares added on every year, the month-long affair takes place at the Northway Mall and can’t be missed.

Others prefer the nostalgia of Trick or Treat Town, an indoor space for families where there are many more treats than tricks. You’ll also find craft and game stations for little ones on October 28 – 29 at the Alaska Communications Garage. Admission is just $10 per person with proceeds benefitting charity.

A Scary Good Time

Maybe you want to counteract the sugar overload a little early with the Frightening 4K followed by Trick or Treat Street. Costumes are encouraged during the run, and you’ll find a treat at every kilometer. Whether you’re competing for a prize or simply want to take in the Alaska beauty before trick or treating with the kids at downtown shops, it’s a fantastic way to experience downtown with hay-rides, face painting and more.

The Alyeska Halloween Train and Mat-Su Animal Care Shelter’s A-Mazing Haunted House are also popular picks. Alyeska is adults only with a zombie dance party and buffet dinner. The A-Mazing experience features a haunted house, family area and more. Where will your haunting season begin?
