5 Events for New Year’s in Anchorage
New Year’s Eve calls for celebration, and Anchorage can offer something for everyone. Whether you are looking for festive parties, delicious dinner or fireworks, the city has great options for when the clock strikes midnight into 2019.

- You can start the New Year’s Eve celebration in Town Square Park.
Located in downtown Anchorage, it is less than a 10-minute car ride from Aptel Studio Hotel. The family-friendly event starts at 5 p.m. with a dance party featuring live music and street performers. The event ends at 8 p.m. with a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

Their New Year’s Family Event starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. It is a great option for families that want to be together and simply have a lot of fun. Dave & Buster’s is offering a fun package that includes an appetizer buffet, unlimited soft drinks, desserts, a $20 Power Card for each guest to play games, face painting and more. For those 21 and older, stay longer and ring in 2019 together at the New Year’s Late Night Event 2019. The package includes dinner buffet, dessert, drink tickets, unlimited video game play and a lot of fun.
- Dress up for the New Year’s party at the Hard Rock Cafe.
The downtown Anchorage restaurant will feature the H3 Hawaii Reggae Band starting at 9 p.m. and end at 1 a.m. With a $10 cover charge, you get a champagne toast at the turn of the year and party gifts.
- Walk, or run, into the 2019 and get one step closer to accomplishing that New Year’s resolution.
The Northern Lights Resolution Run starts at 6 p.m. and is a great way to start 2019 on a healthy and fun note. The 5K event will have music and different lights throughout the trails and APU Campus. You can also enjoy a live DJ before and after running!
- The 49th State Brewing Co. will be hosting their High Gravity New Year’s
The event starts at 7 p.m. cheer to the new year with new beers, hot cocoa, fire pits, and fireworks. The rooftop will be open, but has limited space, so be sure to register!
